Hello there!
My name's Bailey. I’m a Nutritionist and Personal Trainer with a strong passion for health and fitness! From a young age, I knew I wanted to help others. I am grateful to be able to do so as a Health Coach/Personal Trainer at Vitruvian Fitness, a business my boyfriend and I started to help others achieve their fitness goals.
As a child who grew up eating SAD (the Standard American Diet) I was overweight and often sick. Although I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that my parents owned a Dairy Queen, all the treats reflected in my physical health. When I was first introduced to the gym and the idea that your actions/what you eat can have strong effects on the body, I was fascinated and HOOKED. This was when I was 16. I then went on to study Nutrition at the University of Arizona, graduating with my Bachelors of Science in 2012. Throughout the years I went from following a strict vegan diet and being an avid distance runner, to loving all types of physical activity and becoming a *mindful* omnivore. I’ll be 29 next week and currently feel better now than I ever have before! Although my technique, diet, and goals have changed over the years, my passion has not. I even picked up a new hobby along the way (bikini bodybuilding) and have competed in 11 shows over the past 5 years!
It wasn’t always rainbows and butterflies. I've had my share of tough times between being diagnosed with ADHD my senior year of college and trying to balance hormones while taking oral birth control and consuming little essential fats {an almost impossible task}. These experiences, along with years of digging into the research and observing clientele of my own, are what have led me to become so passionate about topic of health, and to create this blog.
